BRYONY MAY KUMMER-SEDDON
FINE ART
To support my mental health throughout my long-distance part-time PhD (and the pandemic) I returned to an early love of mine – Fine Art. During my initial experimentation I developed what I call Pomosaics and trialled making prints (included below).
Pomosaics use hand-made pom-poms to create pictures and patterns in a structure like a mosaic. These pieces take a long time to make as each pom-pom is made by hand to ensure it contains the correct colours and textures – similar to mixing paints to create a desired shade. I am currently finishing a large Pomosaic of the Irish Sea, after which I intend to explore how the technique can be applied to more abstract pieces. Though I am open to commissions and many of the Pomosaics pictured here are available for purchase they are not sold through my Etsy store. If you are interested in a Pomosaic or have any questions, please get in touch with me through the Contact Me form.
