BRYONY MAY KUMMER-SEDDON
CONTACT
Contact was an installation style production. The screens displayed the busts of people talking, listening and looking around the room. After a short time within the space audience members realised that the people on the screens were having a conversation with each other. Due to the positioning of the screens the people projected were able to glance at each other and appeared to interact. While the audience could not hear the conversations, through expression and gesture, the audience were able to watch the progress of the conversations. Chairs were scattered throughout the space and the audience were invited to explore freely.
Contact was the first of three consecutive performances that were presented over one evening. The second performance was Footfall and the third Strain. Existing within the same space, the changes between each distinct piece were evident through lighting and projection changes, shifts in soundscapes and the different personas of performers.
