PERSONAL PROJECTS

In my personal practice I have been exploring the merging of fine art, theatre and performance art to create installations and live performance pieces. While I predominantly use filmed rather than live performers this is often because the desired effects cannot be created by analogue means. A consistent theme in my work is the use of projection to afford the audience a perspective they would not otherwise see.

I am a strong believer that there should be no divide between cast and crew during productions. I find that a performance only benefits from the better communication that integrating everyone generates.

In the past I have been asked to sit-in on rehearsals and act as dramaturge for a range of productions. I have found the experience both interesting and rewarding and have benefited greatly by exploring and engaging with other practitioners’ methods. As well as critiquing I greatly enjoy collaborating with a wide range of specialists. To date, I have successfully collaborated with film makers, sonic artists and physical performers and I hope to work with many other types of artists in the future.

I look forward to any project that will expand my perspectives and increase the technical and conceptual breadth of my work.
